Il colore blu secondo gli usi sociali, artistici e religiosi\u00a0 \u00e8 molto insolito. Rispetto ai colori rosso, giallo, ocra e nero con i quali furono realizzati le prime pitture parietali (http:\/\/olgastudio.com\/?p=5415<\/a>) il blu compar\u00ec nelle opere umani dopo molti millenni. Come dice Michel Pastoureau: «Pur largamente presente in natura dalla nascita della Terra, questo \u00e8 un colore che l’essere umano ha riprodotto, fabbricato e padroneggiato tardi e con difficolt\u00e0… Rispetto al rosso, al bianco e al nero, i tre colori «di base» di tutte le societ\u00e0 antiche, la sua dimensione simbolica era troppo debole per significare o trasmettere delle idee, per suscitare emozioni o impressioni forti…»<\/p>\n

A causa di poche testimonianze disponibili sul blu gli storici del XIX secolo si chiedevano se la gente dell’antichit\u00e0 vedesse questo colore.\u00a0La prima conferma della tintura dei tessuti si riferisce al 6-4 millennio a.C. e viene dall’Asia e dall’Africa. Il pigmento rosso arriver\u00e0 in Europa solo alla fine di 4.000. La fonte del colorante \u00e8 principalmente vegetale (la garanza), che sembra il modo di tintura pi\u00f9 antico, insetti (il chermes) e alcuni molluschi. In certi documenti storici la parola ‘colore’ significava’ rosso’. Il ruolo centrale del rosso si manifesta molto prima dell’avvento della storia romana. C’erano anche bianco e nero, colori attorno ai quali fino al Medioevo, si formavano certi codici simbolici. Il tessuto tinto rappresentava a lungo il rosso (questa connessione \u00e8 particolarmente visibile in russo), il tessuto bianco \u00e8 un simbolo di non verniciato, ma pulito e puro, il nero\u00a0 simboleggiava il tessuto non tinto ma sporco o imbrattato. Il nero era un colore cupo, il rosso era denso e il bianco era al contrario d’entrambi i colori. Pertanto, non c’era blu in questo sistema cromatico. E solo nei XII-XIII il vecchio sistema croll\u00f2 e ne appar\u00ec uno nuovo basato sui sei colori, ch’\u00e8 attuale fino a l’ora.<\/p>\n
